Terms and Conditions

  1. The competition commences on March 1, 2011 and closes on May 30, 2011.
  2. All entrants must register, and have paid the $50 registration fee by May 27, 2011.
  3. Open Agenda is open to graduates over 18 years of age who have completed a professional Architectural degree (M.Arch or B.Arch) in Australia or New Zealand in the last 10 years. (ie if you graduated before 2001 you are ineligible). The competition is also open to recent graduates over 18 years of age who have completed their first professional degree in Architecture in another country in the last 10 years, who are current Australian residents, and have been living in Australia for more than 1 continuous calendar year.
  4. Teams may enter the competition, though all members must satisfy clause 3 of the terms and conditions.
  5. The works submitted must be completed after graduation, and not be associated with work required for a university degree such as a thesis project, doctorate or  coursework masters. The submitted proposal must be original work created solely by the nominated authors and previously unpublished in any public format. 
  6. Works should be submitted in the format specified. It is the responsibility of the entrant to ensure documents are legible and able to be opened.
  7. All submissions are non returnable and the registration fee is non refundable.
  8. The organisers reserve the right to use any and all submitted work for press, publication, and /or exhibition work, now and into the future. Copyright to the work will be retained by the original authors. Authors give permission for their names and proposal title to be listed on the competition website after prizes have been announced.
  9. There is no maximum number of submissions that can be made by any one individual or team, though every submission must be individually registered, with fees paid.
  10. Entries will be reviewed by the advisory panel who will make their recommendations to the chair.
  11. Winners will be contacted by email and telephone. Results will be announced publically via the web in June 2011.
  12. The decision of the chair is final. No correspondence will be entered into regarding the awarding of prizes.
  13. The organisers reserve the right to verify the academic qualifications and/or Australian residency of entrants as per the terms of this competition.
  14. To the extent permitted by law, UTS is not liable for any loss suffered or sustained to person or property and including, but not limited to, consequential (including economic) loss by reason of any act or omission, deliberate or negligent act by UTS in connection with the arrangement for supply, or the supply of any goods or services by any person to the prize winner. This clause does not affect and is not intended to affect, any rights a person might have which are not able to be excluded under applicable Australian consumer protection laws.
  15. Prizes are not transferable or exchangeable by winners.
  16. If, for any reason, this competition is not capable of running as planned, UTS reserves the right in its sole discretion (subject to any written direction given by a relevant authority) to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the competition.
  17. UTS will treat personal information as confidential. Such information will be handled in accordance with privacy legislation.
  18. UTS reserves the right to remove, add to or substitute individuals comprising the competition advisory panel and organizational team.
  19. Submission requirements and prize information form part of these terms and conditions. By participating, entrants agree to be bound by these terms and conditions. Any entry which does not comply with these terms and conditions is invalid.
