The site between Hong Kong and Shenzhen is considered to be the bridging space between two special economic and autonomous zones. The project was to design a bridge spanning the current existing border crossing at Lo Wu and Lok Ma Chau, through to the landscape and mountains on the northern peninsula of Hong Kong, to create a 4km long mega structure to bridge these two cities. Using code generated experiments to create applications for long-span lineal structural types, the project proposed to utilise existing landscape to create structural supports for a parametric component which underwent variations and deformations based on the requirements for a student housing program.
