Jeffrey P. Turko [AA Dipl. RIBA II] is founder of the design practice NEKTON which was formed as a pure research by design practice in 2000. In the summer of 2008 Nekton had a solo show of its work at the London offices of Buro Happold engineers on the theme of sustainability and was exhibited in the 3rd Architectural Biennial Beijing 2008 representing the UK alongside Zaha Hadid, Norman Foster and OCEAN. Nekton was also selected for the lng-list of the 2008 Young Architect of the Year Award held by BD Magazine. He is also a board member and research director in the OCEAN Design and Research Association. With whom he has been an instrumental collaborator on projects such as Landsc[r]aper – Urban Ring Bridge, the World Centre for Human Concerns and most recently the MM tent (aka Membrella). He studied and teaches at the Architectural Association School of Architecture where he received the AA Diploma and where he is now a Unit Master of Diploma Unit 12. He also teaches architecture at the postgraduate diploma level at the University of East London School of Architecture and Visual Arts where he has been a senior lecturer since 2001. He has had published his work and writings in many international architecture journals.
