DIGITAL TECHNIQUES: Weekend Workshops

The School of Architecture is pleased to announce the first of its Digital Techniques weekend workshops.
These are free of charge, not for credit, voluntary ‘bootcamps’ intended to give people a fast-paced example-based introduction to some necessary skills to feed into all other classes.
Students, staff and invited sponsors are all welcome.

Workshop 01 Digital Drawing
Saturday 5th March 10:00am – 5:00pm

This essential skills workshop will take participants through the workflow to digitally produce a high quality, to-scale, shaded drawing of a 3-dimensional model and in the process will introduce the programs:
Rhinoceros 3D – including basic 3D Modelling and simple rendering
Adobe Illustrator
Adobe Photoshop
Adobe InDesign
For anyone who is not extremely familiar with the above sequence and associated programs this workshop should be seen as mandatory revision.

Workshop 02 Python for Rhino
Sunday 6th March 10:00am – 5:00pm
An introduction to computational design via the coding language Python in Rhino, this workshop is intended for staff and students later in the course [especially MAA students] with previous experience modelling in Rhino.

This is an introductory workshop and no previous coding experience is necessary (it would, however, be advantageous).

Instructors:
Ben Coorey, Rob Beson, Dave Pigram
