Adrian McGregor will be giving a public lecture titled ‘Biocity – distilling urban complexity through informetrics’

Adrian McGregor is a Landscape Architecture and Urban Design professional, and the founder and managing director of McGregor Coxall a Sydney based cross disciplinary design studio.  Graduating with a bachelor of landscape architecture in 1988 he began work in Sydney and then moved to North America and the UK to work on a range of environmental projects.  In 1998 he founded the firm in Sydney to focus on pursuit of a sustainable design ethic. The practice received the international TOPOS Landscape Award 2009 in recognition of its environmental design work and has won numerous international competitions and awards for its planning and design projects.  McGregor has been a visiting critic and lecturer at Australian and International universities and established the Biocity Studio in 2006, a research and education vehicle that harnesses informetrics to inform new ecosystem based models for the sustainable design of contemporary cities. In 2009 he was honored with inclusion on the inaugural ‘Creative Catalysts’ list of Sydney’s 100 most creative people. He is passionate about environmental sustainability, contemporary design and the future of our cities and public spaces.
