The Architectural Education Forum held on Friday night, 16th April in Brisbane’s Fortitude Valley was the first in the ‘Backbone’ forum series presented by ‘City Studios’ – a not-for-profit project initiative endeavouring to create vibrant art and design communities within currently vacant buildings in Brisbane’s CBD area. Key panelists openly discussed the ideas and issues facing Architectural Education stimulating a vibrant conversation about what is seen as the most important aspects in Architecture education today.

The list of key panellist speakers included Timothy Hill (Donovan Hill Architects), Richard Kirk (Richard Kirk Architects), Andrew Mackenzie (Editor in Chief, AR magazine), Elizabeth Musgrave (UQ Teaching and Learning Chair), James Russell (James Russell Architect), Paul Sanders (QUT Senior Lecturer) and Anthony Burke (UTS Architecture Head of School).
